
Mara Paley
Mara received her master's degree in communication disorders and sciences from University of Oregon in 2022; she was a scholar in the Preparing A New Generation of Early Autism educators (PANGEA) program which had an early intervention/early childhood focus. Mara has always been fascinated by language development, and received her bachelor's degree in linguistics from University of California, Santa Cruz.
Mara is a Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist. She has pursued continuing education in Gestalt language development in Autistic children, and she is a Natural Language Acquisition (NLA) certified clinician. Mara has also completed training in Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC) for clients with motor speech disorders such as Childhood Apraxia of Speech. Her approach to therapy is play-based and child-led.
She has experience treating a wide variety of delays and disorders, such as expressive and receptive language, articulation, motor speech, fluency and social communication. Mara uses a multimodal communication approach for clients who are non-speaking, minimally or unreliably speaking and is experienced with AAC programs like TD Snap, LAMP Words for Life, and Proloquo/Proloquo2Go.
In the summertime, Mara enjoys hiking and roller skating and in the winter, you can find her snowboarding up on Mt. Bachelor.
