Occupational Therapy

Pediatric occupational therapy helps individuals develop the skills needed to thrive in everyday life! For children, this means supporting their ability to play with family and friends, positively attend school, meet developmental milestones, and manage daily tasks such as eating, sleeping, dressing, and much much more! At Little Hands Therapy, our occupational therapy team understands that every child is unique, with their own strengths, challenges, and pace of development!

At Little Hands Therapy, our occupational therapy team addresses:

Speech-Language Pathology

Speech-language pathology is designed to enhance communication skills, addressing a range of areas including articulation difficulties, language development, social and pragmatic language skills, and motor challenges affecting speech. Our speech therapy team also supports communication through speech-generating devices and AAC programs. At Little Hands Therapy, our speech team values all forms of communications, aiming to boost your child's engagement and interest in their sessions!

Physical Therapy

Pediatric physical therapy focuses on the assessment and treatment of children with movement disorders, physical impairments, and developmental delays. Our goal is to enhance your child’s mobility, strength, coordination, and overall physical function through engaging and age-appropriate interventions. At Little Hands Therapy, our PT team continues to strive for fun and engaged sessions!

At Little Hands Therapy, our physical therapy team addresses:

  • Developmental Delays: Helping children achieve developmental milestones, such as crawling, standing, walking, and running.
  • Mobility: Enhancing movement and functional abilities.
  • Neurological Disorders: Support for conditions like cerebral palsy, spina bifida, traumatic brain injuries, or other long-term conditions.

Social Group Therapy

At Little Hands Therapy, we offer specialized social group therapy designed to enhance social skills, build friendships, and promote emotional well-being for individuals throughout the span of childhood. Social groups provide a supportive environment where children can learn and practice essential social interactions while having fun.

Social group therapy sessions are structured groups with 5-7 children present. The focus of group is on improving social skills through engaging activities, discussions, and games. Led by our experienced therapists, these groups aim to foster communication, collaboration, and confidence among all the children.

Goals of Social Group Therapy:

  • Skill Development: Teaching essential social skills, including conversation starters, active listening, and non-verbal communication.
  • Building Confidence: Creating a safe space for children to express themselves and gain self-esteem.
  • Friendship Formation: Foster meaningful connections with peers who share similar interests and experiences.
  • Problem-Solving: Provide strategies for navigating social challenges and conflicts.

Group Therapy Interventions:

  • Interactive Games: Fun activities that encourage teamwork and communication. These activities also include a sensory regulation aspect to improve regulation and engagement.
  • Role-Playing Scenarios: Practicing real-life social situations in a supportive peer environment.
  • Group Discussions: Exploring topics related to emotions, friendships, and conflict resolution.
  • Creative Projects: Engaging in art or craft activities that promote collaboration and creativity.
