Emily Hosford

OTD, OTR/L

Emily received her doctoral degree from Pacific University in Hillsboro, Oregon. She has a background in behavioral sciences, as she received her bachelor's degree in applied behavioral science with a concentration in early autism intervention from the University of Kansas. She has worked with neurodiverse children since she was a teenager but expanded her passion for this population more recently during her OT journey.

Emily has experience working with various children from infancy to adolescence with a range of abilities. She has worked with children with physical, emotional, and developmental delays in the community and school settings. More recently, Emily worked with parents and other therapists to develop resources that address feeding challenges for autistic children at one of Oregon's major hospitals. Her professional goals focus on helping all children, regardless of ability, experience the joys of childhood while also supporting their families to enjoy the journey too. Emily's passion for pediatrics allows her to be fun, silly, and engage in her own favorite occupation, play.

She is excited to be a part of the Little Hands Therapy team because of its focus on child-led therapies that encompass the whole family. Emily has experience working with parents from various cultural backgrounds and training them on appropriate strategies to best support their child. She recognizes that the family's goals are important in her holistic approach.

In her free time, Emily enjoys playing outside and adventuring with her dog, Nellie.
